Traction Machines
In 2019, Govik has expanded into the traction machines industry, with a focus on developing and manufacturing three-phase traction motors for locomotives and EMUs.
We are currently manufacturing three-phase traction motors type 6FRA6068 for WAP7 and WAG9 locomotives, type 6FXA7059 for WAP5 locomotives and traction motors for 3 phase HHP diesel locomotives.
Our manufacturing facilities at Ambernath are the most advanced in the country for the production of traction motors. A majority of the manufacturing process is undertaken by our state-of-the-art machinery, with little to no human intervention. This has allowed us to achieve a production capacity of 1200 motors a year.
Our clients include Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Banaras Locomotive Works, and Diesel Loco Modernisation Works.
